Selangor Hornbills

The flight is getting bigger.

From KL roots. Representing Selangor. Building the future of basketball.

Since our KL roots

Our story

Selangor Hornbills, formerly known as KL Hornbills, is a competitive Malaysian basketball club built on a commitment to excellence, teamwork and player development.

Through consistent participation in major domestic competitions, the Hornbills have established themselves as a competitive presence in Malaysian basketball, collecting championship honours and podium finishes along the way.

In 2026, the club entered a new chapter, adopting the Selangor Hornbills identity in line with the Major Basketball League's territorial representation framework.

The 2026–27 season marks the club's debut in the MBL Pro League, representing an important step in our continued growth and ambition.

Our journey is driven by the belief that building a successful basketball organisation requires more than winning games. It requires developing athletes, creating opportunities and establishing a lasting basketball culture.

Hornbills team

Who we play for

BUILT FOR EVERYONE. UNITED BY BASKETBALL.

The Hornbills were created with a simple belief: basketball should belong to everyone.

In a sport that has historically been shaped by community boundaries in Malaysia, we wanted to build something different. A club where players are recognised for their ability, character and commitment, not their race or background.

We believe talent exists everywhere. Opportunity doesn't always follow.

Our mission is to help change that. By bringing players from different walks of life together, we aim to create an environment where every athlete has a fair chance to develop, compete and reach their potential.

Different backgrounds. One team. One flight.
